Due to the fact that I hate buckled trousers I often carried stuff like my phone or my credit cards in my hands. It’s not more handy but my trousers don’t look like shit. Even dress pants or dinner jackets aren’t able to distract from you looking like a cretin – sorry for that.
Since a while I’ve been looking for a clutch. Brands aren’t that much important for me because I’m more the quality guy. Quality comes first, brands come last and if something is expensive has to be evaluated by the fact if it’s worth for you. While I’d lately been dandering through Cologne I stumbled upon a manufactum store. Manufactum is well-known for high quality products and I like to have a look at the Munich based store at least once in a month.
While poking through their assortment I suddenly found a so-called money bag. For the nearly last 2.000 years people transported their money in a money bag to a bank or other institutions. The Lake Constance based brand Sonnenleder reinterpreted that bag and developed the Weill Bank Pouch.
“Sonnenleder stands for gentle and purely herbal processing: selected cow skins from Southern Germany are tanned according to an old traditional formula. You can recognize real Sonnenleder leather by its fascinating colour and surface structure, by the way it feels and by the fragrant scent. Each item is unique.”1
You’ll be able to confirm that demand for high quality standards already when you touch the clutch for the first time. The leather is really thick but smooth at the same time. Small scratches and dirt can be easily removed. After using the clutch for a while you’re already able to see a wonderful patina. During my trip to Tokyo and Portugal I used the Weill as a storage for my passport and other documents wherefore I normally use it as a book bag or purse. The 25 x 17cm huge clutch offers enough space for my daily life and is hereby beautiful enough to accompany me on special events.
I decided to buy the black one but with a retail price of only 60,-€ it is not excluded that I buy the brown one too.
